On March 28, web of Science reported the research of College of life science and medicine associate professor Li Wenli research group found that small RNA virus induced by Antheraea pernyi from spit of white water disease. Associate professor Wenli’s research group and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences OlleTerenius research group found a new strain of small RNA virus in vivo tussah larvae disease, namely AntheraeapernyiIflavirus ApIV, and obtained the complete genome sequence of the virus. The experiments show that according to the Koch's rule, the virus can cause health risk of tussah larvae spit white water disease (osteomalacia). Antheraea pernyi spit white water disease (softening disease, AntheraeapernyiIflavirus ApIV) is one of the three major diseases of Antheraea pernyi and it is a hazard to tussah silkworm production in Liaoning, Jilin and other alpine regions, and cause economic losses. The study showed that the ApIV genome is 10163 nucleotides, containing a natural poly-A tail and a large open reading frame, this reading frame encoding 3036 amino acids. N terminus of the virus is the four capsid proteins, and C terminal of virus is non structural protein, including RNA helicase and 3C protease and the RNA dependent RNA polymerase. Analysis of the ApIV genome shows that the virus belongs to the genus Iflavirus and is a new species of the family. Laboratory personnel will be from the disease of silkworm in separation of health of the 5th instar silkworm larvae obtained injection ApIV virus particles and the Antheraea pernyi larvae out the obvious spit white water disease (flacherie diseases, and plays a ApIV proliferation in vivo detection of Antheraea pernyi. Thus the experiment indicates tussah spit white water disease (osteomalacia) is one of the important pathogenic microorganisms isolated from the ApIV virus particles.

Since the molecular biology has been engaged in the initial steps of the work, and in the domestic earlier to carry out the tussah material insect biotechnology research. The study presided in Liaoning Province Natural Science Fund Project "study of silkworm variety resources RAPD mapping and genetic relationship analysis", a collection of 72 of the main producing areas of Antheraea pernyi has representative of tussah silkworm varieties, for the first time at the molecular level of tussah varieties of phylogenetic relationship are studied. From 2006 to 2008 presided over Liaoning Province Natural Science Fund Project "the Antheraea pernyi baculovirus activate innate immune system of poultry research", completed the Antheraea pernyi baculovirus of poultry immune cell activation and identified specific recognition baculovirus toll like receptor family member, MAPK and NF kappa B pathway of Antheraea pernyi baculovirus activation of innate immunity of Poultry Research work. He is currently being hosted by the Liaoning Province, a major project "silkworm transgenic technology platform construction" and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Olle international cooperation project "insects of the order Lepidoptera antiviral immunity" research work.
